Cable Connections

Concerns: Cables are rated based on their breaking strength. If you use a preapproved manual and industry standard, verify that these documents have used the appropriate cable breaking strength. We have one tool to calculate the anchors for suspended equipment and includes the sizing of the cable restraints.

Types of Connections: There are many types of cable connections. Most of the connections are prepared by manufacturers for field installation. The figure to the left depicts most typical installations. The figure below shows how wire rope grips should be applied.
